Ukraine intends to equal the balance of trade with China, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said at the meeting with a member of the political bureau of the central committee of the Communist Party of China Liu Yunshan, ForUm correspondent reports.
"Last year, our trade turnover exceeded $ 10 billion, but there was a negative balance of trade in China's favor. Chinese imports exceeded ours by $ 2.5 billion. We have to think together how to equal our trade balance," he said.
Azarov asked Yunshan to extend Chinese Prime Minister the invitation to visit Ukraine to discuss these issues.
In addition, Azarov recalled that Ukraine and China soon are to sign the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between Ukraine and China and the Program of strategic partnership development between Ukraine and China.
"The signing of these two important bilateral documents will allow laying the foundation for cooperation between the two countries in the coming years. We hope that during the visit of President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych at the end of the year to China, these two documents will be signed," the Prime Minister said.
According to him, Ukraine is also interested in cooperation with China in aerospace industry.
