The electoral campaign for re-elections in five constituencies, appointed by the Verkhovna Rada on December 15, will start in mid-October, but the Parliament must allocate money on it, the deputy chairman of the Central Election Commission Andriy Mahera said.
According to the CEC deputy chairman, the Verkhovna Rada has to amend the state budget for funding organization and conduct of the elections.
According to him, the Cabinet sent previously provided funds for the current year interim and repeated parliamentary elections to other purposes.
"Therefore, there is not a single hryvnia for the conduct of the by-elections," Mahera stated.
However, the deputy head of the Central Election Commission considers that Parliament should have no problem with the adoption of the law.
Mahera did not name the amount that would be required for these elections, explaining that in the near future the CEC specialists will calculate it.
