The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) verifies information about involvement of Ukrainians in the Syrian conflict, ForUm learned from the SBU press service.
"The Ukrainian Security Service checks yesterday's statements by some politicians and foreign diplomats about the possible involvement of Ukrainian citizens in the armed conflict in Syria. Such measures are conducted for a certain time and no confirmation of this information has been received," press service reported.
At the same time, according to the SBU, it was found that there is active campaigning for "help Syria” in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea among supporters of the Hizb-but-Tahrir organization of the Muslim community, especially among young people.
"This is illegal. SBU reacts to such cases," the press service says.
SBU reports that the Ukrainian intelligence will continue taking all statutory measures to prevent the illegal participation of Ukrainian citizens in military operations on the territory of other states.
