Glazyev: Association with EU would violate Russia, Ukraine treaty of friendship, cooperation
Ukraine’s signing the Association Agreement with the European Union would violate the basic Ukrainian- Russian treaty of friendship and cooperation, as well as make senseless agreement on free trade area within the CIS. This was stated by adviser to the Russian President on integration within the Customs Union and Common Economic Space of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan Sergei Glazyev in an interview.

At the same time, he stressed that the attitude of the Ukrainian authorities to the integration into the Customs Union has not changed compared with 2012 or 2011. "I feel that the process has stopped, it is not going anywhere. Ukrainian colleagues are only talking about the feasibility of integration,  that is necessary to support partnership to promote cooperation, expand trade, but there have been no practical steps over the years. So we stand still," the advisor to the Russian President said.

Speaking about Ukraine's aspirations to cooperate with the Customs Union in the 3 +1format and acquiring observer status in the Eurasian Economic Commission, Glazyev stressed that EEC has no observer status.
