Implementation of the modernization strategy to accelerate economic and social reforms requires common actions of the government and the opposition, President Viktor Yanukovych said, speaking in the Parliament on the occasion of opening of the third session of the Verkhovna Rada of VII convocation, ForUm correspondent reports.
"We have some economic achievements. First of all, we have significantly reduced the rate of inflation. Since the beginning of the year, the prices have risen only by 0.1%, and they fell by 0.2% last year. During the last three years the salary increased by an average of 60%. We have increased confidence in the currency and the banking system," he said.
According to him, the main source of economic problems in Ukraine is a continuation of the world economic crisis, the state of world markets and the very high price for imported gas.
