Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has called on the deputies to adopt laws necessary for the European integration of Ukraine, the head of state stated, speaking in the Parliament on the occasion of opening of the third session of the Verkhovna Rada of VII convocation, ForUm correspondent reports.
The President stressed that Ukraine's success at the Vilnius summit should be prepared in the Parliament, and the country's European integration itself is necessary not for government or opposition but for Ukraine.
"The new political season has started, and I hope that the second half of this year will become a period of political understanding, cooperation, fruitful and timely decisions. Unfortunately, the previous session of the Verkhovna Rada was a time of lost opportunities, and as a result we lose the pace of reforms, which started in 2010-2012. But I am sure that Ukrainian Parliament can join its forces around issues that influence the fate of Ukraine," he stressed.
