Work of the center for bone marrow transplantation and the unit for pediatric haemato-oncology at Kyiv-based Okhmatdyt National Children’s Hospital has to start in the first quarter of 2014.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov set such a task on Tuesday at a meeting on the issues related to the construction of a new building at the Okhmatdyt hospital, according to the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers, Interfax-Ukraine reported.

"The construction of this building must be finished by the deadline and in compliance with the construction technology and [the standards of] equipping hospitals. The hospital must be commissioned completely next year. All works must be carried out at the highest level in terms of quality," Azarov said.

The head of the government stressed that such a modern hospital could provide with high quality medical treatment children from all regions of Ukraine.

The construction of the new building at the hospital started in December 2011.
