Ukraine and Japan intend to sign a treaty on mutual protection of investments, Japan’s foreign minister Fumio Kishida said after the talks with foreign minister of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara in Kyiv on Monday.

"To enhance the economic cooperation between the two countries, it is absolutely necessary to sign a treaty on investments between the two countries. We have agreed to intensify the dialogue aimed at signing this agreement," the Japanese minister said.

According to him, Ukraine is a large food supplier and as such has an extremely strong economic potential.
