During the years of independence of Ukraine, the role of industry for the national economy has not declined. Country owes industry its most important economic achievements in 22 years. This opinion was expressed by industrial policy minister of Ukraine Mykhailo Korolenko in an interview.
"After gaining independence, our industrial complex faced a problem of radical change of the whole scheme of work - correction of process chains, shifting from a planned economy to the market consumer. I think the industry has coped with this task successfully. Its role in the Ukrainian economy has not decreased, for example, the mining and metallurgical complex is still the leader of the country's economy," the minister said.
According to Korolenko, for the past few years Ukraine has not only preserved and modernized industrial facilities, inherited from the Soviet Union, but also created new fields - in particular, production of high-speed trains and subway cars, helicopter industry.
