President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych took part in the service for the miners, died in industrial accidents, held in Saint Barbara's chapel, presidential press office reports.
According to the report, the service was held by Illarion, metropolitan of Donetsk and Maryupil.
After the service Yanukovych lit a candle in memory of the dead miners and laid flowers to the icon of Saint martyr Barbara.
As a reminder, the chapel of Saint martyr Barbara was built as a monument to miners, died in industrial accidents, and opened for Miner's Day on August 30, 1997.
