There are no preconditions for the rise in petrol price in Ukraine, energy and coal industry minister of Ukraine Eduard Stavytsky told a press conference August 21, ForUm correspondent reported.

"The market is now stable and I do not see any prerequisites for increasing petrol prices. We will be watching over speculators," he said.

The Incomes and Fees Ministry, the Antimonopoly Committee and other agencies are monitoring the situation in the petrol market.

The minister also noted that closure of the Mozyr refinery for repairs can not affect the market. "They have such unscheduled repairs every year. Though really, it's one-third of imported gasoline in Ukraine. The Ministry had known that in advance and took appropriate actions. In particular, traders bought fuel in Romania and Bulgaria.
