Russian vice Prime Minister Dmytro Rogozin questions the appropriateness of further cooperation with Ukraine in the aircraft industry. He stated this in an interview with the "Kommersant" newspaper, commenting on the An-124 "Ruslan" and An-70 projects.

"The problem is in that the Ukrainian party is unwilling to conclude an agreement to provide us with consent to upgrade individual units of this aircraft (An-124. - Ed.). We will not wait any longer, and will use the world experience," he said.

According to Rogozin, if Ukraine does not decide now, Russia will be forced to localize all production. "We’ll reject their services completely. Whom will they work with? Chinese? China is far advanced in this respect. I am truly worried about the fate of our industrial cooperation with Ukraine," vice Prime Minister said.

As for the An-70, it is almost a direct competitor of the Russian Il-476 due to its technical characteristics, Rogozin said.

"Do we need to make in our own company, let's say, 50 IL-476 and 50 An-70? We are interested in large batches, so that each plant is not turned into a natural economy," he said.

"Therefore, the decision must be taken. It will be made, I think, in the near future," he concluded.
