Russia will not be able to stop the process of European integration of Ukraine. This opinion was expressed by director of the Kyiv Center for Political and Conflict Studies Mykhailo Pohrebynsky.
"I do not think that Russia now hopes it will be able to stop the signing of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement and the FTA. They will have to move to a new reality, which Moscow prepares now. It was done too indelicately, but I think it will be so on. We need to be ready for this. Regarding the position of Europe, I think it was determined before the conflict - the association will be signed. Regardless, whether we perform all the requirements or not," Pohrebynsky believes.
Expert believes that after the signing of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, Moscow and Kyiv will face completely new reality, to which both countries need to be prepared. Ukraine should be ready for tightened control of our products exported to Russia.
"Russia, in the last trade war, tried to experiment with a new future status of Ukraine, to define a new reality that awaits our country in case of establishment FTA with Europe. We were shown how Ukrainian goods will be checked on the border. All products coming from Ukraine to Russia will be checked in the same way as products from Europe. Russia tried to demonstrate it to us," the analyst added.
