Belgorod customs house on the Russian-Ukrainian border is "working in the same mode with additional control procedures in relation to Ukrainian goods," chief of the customs house General Major Anatoly Ushakov said.

"There have been no instructions on the abolition of the regime yet," he stated.

According to him, within the framework of the Customs Code of the Russian Federation, additional control procedures were introduced to prevent possible risks. These include, in particular, possibility of "non-conformity of goods with the documents". Customs officers check the weight of the presented goods crossing the border. "Unfortunately, there are cases when, instead of the claimed 20 tons, car carries several tons more," Ushakov noted.

Ushakov added that to resolve and avoid problem situations, exchange of information between the customs authorities of the two countries to develop joint approaches will be increased, particularly in those cases when it affects the interests of Ukrainian and Russian companies.
