Ukraine has a very good chance of signing the Association Agreement with the European Union in November of this year, .S. Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt said in an interview with Radio "Liberty".
"Ukraine has a very good chance. I say this based on what I heard from the Ukrainian authorities and the European party. Everyone wants to make this work. However, there are important decisions, which Ukrainian authorities should take. We believe that Europe keeps the door open for Ukraine, and hope that the Ukrainian government will go through this door," he said.
Pyatt also admitted that he had been impressed by the seriousness with which the Ukrainian government comes to the question of concluding an Association Agreement, focusing on the different steps in order to meet the standards of Europe.
"One of them is an issue of selective justice. We very much hope that the Ukrainian government and its European partners will be able to find a formula to satisfy the requirements of the European community, including cessation of the practice of selective justice," the ambassador said.
