In the case of signing the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement and FTA, the Customs Union will have to tighten customs regime with Ukraine, and could get out of a free trade area with the country, said Russian President’s adviser Sergei Glazyev said in interview with the "Vesti" newspaper.

"We will have to tighten customs administration in order to avoid the re-importation of European goods through the Ukrainian territory. We will have to tighten up the system of veterinary and sanitary control, as Ukraine switches to the European standards. Termination of the free trade with Ukraine may be considered. The Eurasian Economic Commission already studies this question," he said.

According to him, reduction of the projects, which are planned to implement jointly with Ukrainian partners, including nuclear energy, defense industry, aerospace, aviation industry, will be revised.

"It will be done since Ukraine is taking on too stringent obligations in terms of the implementation of European technical regulations and following the European defense and foreign policy," Glazyev said.
