Customs sanctions of the Russian Federation against Ukrainian goods is a kind of test for Kyiv, economist Viktor Lysytsky told a press conference,  ForUm correspondent reports.

"This is an attempt in order to further develop a more weighty and significant methods of influence on Ukraine - so that, ultimately, to stop signing of the Association Agreement with the EU," he considers.

At the same time, he said that Moscow overestimates significance of this event. "Thus, the Agreement provides for standards of regulation, not hard obligations of the parties. Moreover, document has no requirements to eliminate economic relations with Russia and focus only on development of relations with the European Union. Over the past 10 years there has been steady growth in our trade turnover with the CIS and other countries (China, USA, etc.), while the EU's share in foreign trade turnover is not growing," the expert said.

Lysytsky added that the last constraints of the Russian Federation acted in a short time, and there are doubts that any of the domestic producers suffered more or less serious losses.
