The Supreme Court of Switzerland suspended the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on recognition of the Metalist - Karpaty match as fixed, the FC Metalist press office informs.

"This decision of the Supreme Court of Switzerland means that the decision rendered by CAS on August 2 is not valid till consideration of the Metalist’s appeal by the Supreme Court of Switzerland," lawyer of FC Metalist Markiyan Klyuchkovsky noted.

According to him, so the League has no formal grounds to prevent FC Metalist from playing in playoffs.

"In this situation, UEFA should alter its decision or at least suspend. We already appeal to UEFA and the CAS with the relevant request and inform them of the decision of the Supreme Court of Switzerland and hope for a speedy solution," Klyuchkovsky said.

He noted that the lawyers of the club will continue to work in the Supreme Court of Switzerland.

"We will ask the Supreme Court to cancel the decision of Switzerland CAS at all. In parallel, we will carry out the process with CAS to lift the UEFA decision," Klyuchkovsky said.
