The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine abolished the increase in utility tariffs in 20 settlements, vice Prime Minister Oleksandr Vilkul informed.
"The government is taking measures in regions, where the decision on the stability of utility tariffs was not observed. Working groups work in each region.
They, in case of finding violations, address the State Inspectorate, the Antimonopoly Committee, authorities to take appropriate actions. Due to this, increase in utility tariffs is already canceled in 20 settlements," Vilkul said during nationwide conference call with regional leaders.
He noted that to ensure the stability of utility rates it is necessary to go through upgrades of equipment, energy-saving technologies, by attracting investment in the sector. "This is the way the Eastern Europe passed to improve the quality of public services," vice Prime Minister said.
