Wait-and-see policy of the Ukrainian government and ignoring the open provocation by the Russian Federation in form of restrictions on the import of Ukrainian products can have a positive impact on the image of our country in Europe. These conclusions were reached by a number of domestic political scientists.
Valery Kucheruk, head of the Skovoroda Analytical Group is sure that the actions of the Russian customs officers are controlled by the president of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. Political scientist is convinced that such steps of the head of the neighboring state will lead to positive political and geopolitical consequences for Ukraine.
According to Kucheruk, Russian government intends to prevent the signing of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, scheduled for autumn this year. "Putin, unwittingly, became the main promoter of Ukraine in Europe," the expert emphasizes.
He also focuses on the fact that the unfriendly actions of Russia led to the consolidation of the Ukrainian political elites. Kucheruk hoped that pro-government and opposition forces will remain such an attitude for a long time, allowing them without delay to pass the remaining laws in preparation for the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU.
