The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine welcomes the prospects of enhancing co-operation with the countries of the African region, special representative for the Middle East and African Affairs of Ukraine Hennady Latiy told a conference, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to the diplomat "we have very good prospects to enhance cooperation with African countries, economic and trade cooperation in particular".
He noted that statistics shows activity and development of trade with the region. For example, in 2012 domestic exports to Africa rose by 68.6% to $ 5.6 billion, including with such a large market like Egypt - more than 2-fold, with Libya - 2.75 times, with South Africa, which is among the leading developing countries - by 87.9%, with Nigeria - by 28.3%.
"So we are positive about the prospects for cooperation with African countries. We will share political contacts, and support our companies going to the markets of these countries in all fields," the expert said.
