If Ukraine had agreed to establish a joint gas transport consortium with Russia, Ukraine would have got gas at $ 268.5 per 1.000 cubic meters, Russian Ambassador to Ukraine Mikhail Zurabov said.
"The fact that it was planned to sign the basic parameters to solve the gas issue in December 2012 gives me reason to believe that it was possible to find solutions on the Russian gas price for Ukraine outside the format of the Customs Union. I think I can call this price, it will make a strong impression, taking into account what the price is today. This price was to be 268.5 dollars per one thousand cubic meters of gas," he said.
Zurabov noted that the relevant documents and agreements were to be signed on December 18-19, 2012 at the meeting of the presidents of Ukraine and Russia.
The ambassador also said that not concluded agreements provided for fixing the minimum amount of pumping Russian gas through the Ukrainian gas transportation system of 60 billion cubic meters.
