27-year-old citizen of Ukraine, Kyiv resident Egor Sheveliov, who was suspected of involvement in the hacking group “Western Express” in the case of hacking credit card numbers, was sentenced to 40 years in prison in the U.S.

In particular, August 8, 2013, the District Attorney of Manhattan (New York, USA) Cyrus Vance announced the results of an eight-year investigation and prosecution in case of cybercrime group “Western Express”.

Its members were charged with trafficking more than 95 thousand stolen credit card numbers, which subsequently led to fraud amounting to more than $ 5 million.

The report notes that Sheveliov has been one of the main suppliers of stolen credit card data in the world.

It also states that he carried out his criminal activities staying in Kyiv apartment.

During the trial, the involvement of Sheveliov in selling more than 75 thousand stolen credit card numbers was evidenced by 50 testimonies.
