Work on the preparation of housing and utilities infrastructure of Ukraine for the heating season 2013-2014 is performed at 75%, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said, opening the Cabinet’s meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.

"Despite the fact that the summer goes on, preparing for the next autumn-winter period should be well under way and today these works are almost 75% done," the Prime Minister emphasized.
Azarov added that, according to the Regional Development Ministry, 133 thousand residential units, 15 thousand schools, 11 thousand kindergartens and 5.300 hospitals are already prepared for winter. Moreover, 17 thousand boilers, 1070 km of water networks and 424 km of sewers are ready for operation in the autumn-winter period in accordance with the schedule. Almost 4 million tons of coal and 59 thousand tons of fuel oil are prepared.

"I instruct vice Prime Minister Oleksandr Vilkul to intensify preparations for the heating season and to pay special attention to liquidation of emergencies in heating systems," Azarov concluded.
