Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov instructed Cabinet members to visit regions assigned to them on the Knowledge Day, September 1, to congratulate children and to discuss modern education system with teachers and parents.
"I ask all heads of executive authorities to ensure that the First Bell becomes unforgettable holiday for children and parents. In addition, members of the government have to go to the regions assigned to them and to take part in the celebration of the Knowledge Day," Azarov said at the Cabinet’s meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.
The Prime Minister stressed that officials should not only congratulate school students but also to talk with teachers and parents to get an idea about the state of the education system of Ukraine.
"This will help to understand what transformations and adjustments of state policy in the field of education must take place in the future," he explained.
Azarov also said that as expected, the Knowledge Day in Ukraine will be marked on Sunday, and the teaching process will begin on September 2.
