Ukraine should prevent weakening of the Eurasian vector of its foreign policy, as well as the loss of market for Ukrainian goods and services in the countries of the Customs Union, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said, opening the Cabinet’s meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.

"We already see some negative trends, and Ukraine suffers losses due to the reduction in mutual trade in goods and services in the countries of the Customs Union. Therefore, we must not forget that Eurasian vector remains one of the priorities for Ukraine in addition to the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU," Prime Minister noted.

He mentioned that signing of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement does not obstruct deepening of relations with the Customs Union within the framework of the extension of the existing FTA with the CIS countries.

Azarov added that there will be soon completed the analysis of the consequences of signing the Association Agreement for the development of cooperation between enterprises of Ukraine and the countries of the Customs Union. "In addition, the Economic Development and Trade Ministry and the Foreign Ministry should speed up the preparation of specific proposals concerning joining the individual agreements and technical regulations of the CU," Azarov concluded.
