The Cabinet of Ministers will set up an interagency working group to analyze possible changes in the economy of Ukraine after the entry into a free trade area with the European Union, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said, opening the Cabinet’s meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.

"The government is preparing for the summit of "Eastern Partnership", whose main objective will be signing of the Association Agreement with the EU and, accordingly, the creation of the FTA," PM said.

He noted that the FTA with the EU will allow Ukrainian economy to get new opportunities to further sustainable development. However, Azarov added, such changes are a huge step requiring analysis and forecasts. In this regard, he stressed, the interagency working group will operate under the Cabinet to analyze the pros and cons of the FTA with the EU.

"The work is challenging and ambitious in view of the changes awaiting Ukrainian economy in connection with the transition to European standards," Azarov added. 

At this point, Azarov stressed, legal-linguistic finalization of the Association Agreement is being completed and the changes are made due to the entry of Croatia into the EU.
