Ukraine awaits findings of the Venice Commission on amendments to the electoral legislation in the coming weeks, justice minister of Ukraine Olena Lukash said during roundtable dedicated to discussion of recommendations of the Venice Commission and OSCE / ODIHR on amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine, ForUm correspondent reports.

She recalled that the Justice Ministry developed certain norms to change the electoral law, and now they are on the expertise of the Venice Commission.

"We await the conclusions in the near future, frankly, in the coming weeks," Lukash said.

She also noted that Europe recommends Ukraine to exclude from the electoral law a norm prohibiting people with criminal record to run for Parliament.
