"The Russian party was pointed to the urgent need for returning home Oleksandr Fedorovych, taking into account the failure to prove his guilt in carrying out illegal actions on illegal catches of aquatic biological resources," the Foreign Ministry press service reports.
According to the information, the attention of the Russian diplomat was focused on the testimony of the victim on the lack of any evidence of illegal activities on a Ukrainian boat and, therefore, groundless charges against him.
In addition, according to information, special emphasis was placed on the previously pronounced position of the Ukrainian party about the conduct of a joint investigation of the incident, taking into account all the circumstances, including existing bilateral legal framework, which determines the current status of the Azov Sea.
"In response Vorobyov once again expressed condolences over the incident and promised to bring the urgency of the meeting to the leadership of the Russian Foreign Ministry to take the necessary decisions," the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine reports.
