Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Ukraine Mikhail Ukleba does not recommend Ukrainians to visit Abkhazia and South Ossetia, he said during a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.
"Ukraine and Georgia are friendly countries. Imagine if the territory of Ukraine were occupied, and the Georgian tourists continued visiting it. It is really horrible in the human, political and other aspects," the diplomat said.
He admitted that there were earlier precedents, when the law enforcers detained, fined and investigated persons for criminal liability, who illegally crossed the border between Georgia and South Ossetia and Abkhazia. However, the ambassador said that this year, Georgia has softened the penalty for this violation introducing lower fines.
