Ukraine gave the fifth highest number of tourists who visited Georgia for the first six months of 2013, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Ukraine Mikhail Ukleba told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.

"76 thousand tourists (from Ukraine - Ed.) visited our country last year. For six months in 2013, the growth (of tourist flow - Ed.) was 73%, which is somewhere around 50 thousand Ukrainian tourists," he stressed.

The diplomat noted that in the first half of 2013 the trade turnover between Ukraine and Georgia amounted to 341.6 million dollars "Export of Georgia in Ukraine amounted to around $ 70 million, and imports to Georgia from your country - 272.4 million dollars That is, the balance in favor of Ukraine," the ambassador said.

According to the Georgian ambassador, the most exported goods from Georgia are ethyl alcohol and spirits, mineral water, ferroalloys, railway locomotives, nuts and wine. In turn, Ukraine, as Ukleba noted, mostly exports to Georgia cigarettes of tobacco and substitutes, sunflower and cottonseed oil, coke and semi-coke, ferrous metals and food products.
