60% of non-food goods of dubious quality and production were exposed for the first six months of 2013, acting head of market surveillance department of the State Inspectorate for Consumer Protection Mykola Dmitriev told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.

"In the first half of 2013, 1.750 inspections of non-food products imported to Ukraine were conducted within the framework of state supervision. Violations were identified in 1093 cases, what makes up 62%," he said.

The main violations, according to Dmitriev, included the lack of national mark of conformity for products, the lack of declaration and labeling of goods.

"All these factors indicate that the imported products are mostly of dubious quality and production," he stressed.

The official added that most contraband and counterfeit goods were found among home appliances, mobile phones and detergents.
