Kazakh sanitary epidemiologists did not find benzopyrene in products of the Roshen Ukrainian confectionery company, Kazakhstan's chief sanitary doctor Zhandarbek Bekshin told a briefing.
In late July, Rospotrebnadzor banned the import of Roshen confectionery products to Russia when found violations of quality and safety.
The products did not meet the standards for content of fat and organoleptic and had a deviation in terms of quality. On Friday, August 2, the Sanitary Service of Kazakhstan began checking the Ukrainian confectionery products.
"We conducted a study of a large number of products. Seven items were examined, benzopyrene was not found," he concluded.
According to him, the Roshen confectionery products occupy 15-20% of the Kazakh market.
