Laying the foundations of foreign policy in the medium and long term is very important and topical issue for Ukraine, first deputy economic development and trade minister of Ukraine Anatoly Maksyuta said during interdepartmental meeting on the issue.
Maksyuta reported that there is a need to determine how the register principles of foreign policy in the current legislation.
According to the experts of the Ministry, the foundations of foreign policy should be considered as a component of the state foreign trade and therefore it is appropriate to be make the relevant changes to the law of Ukraine on foreign economic activity.
This law is proposed to define the term "state foreign policy of Ukraine", register it in the direction of the integration processes and Ukraine's relations with other countries, to identify the main objectives and mechanisms of foreign policy, to make other necessary changes.
