The Central Criminal Court of the United Kingdom chose measure of restraint in the form of arrest for 25-year-old citizen of Ukraine Pavlo Lapshyn accused of acts of terrorism and murder of a British pensioner, BBC Ukraine reports.
"Given the seriousness of the charges against Lapshyn, the court decided to elect the arrest as a measure of restraint to hear his case in court," edition notes.
Hearing of case is appointed for January 14, 2014.
Preliminary hearing of Lapshyn’s case lasted just over half hour. He was on videoconferencing from Bellmarsh prison. "During the meeting, he was asked only to confirm that he understood what was going on the court, and to confirm his name. All court proceedings were translated for the defendant in the Russian language," the edition writes.
