The draft law "On prosecutor's office" fully cancels general supervision, presidential adviser Andriy Portnov said in an interview with "Kommersant-Ukraine", who oversees the development of the law on prosecutor's office in the Administration of the President.
"There will be no regulations, no representations or no protests of the prosecutor. They will be deprived of their unlimited power. Complete withdrawal of the prosecutor's office from the private sector will be provided. The prosecutor will be deprived of the right to demand anything from a private person or not state company out of the criminal process," he said.
Portnov also stressed that prosecutors could have stopped illegal and legal decision of the authority. "The decision of the prosecutor could have been subjective. Now the prosecutor can only apply to the court to prove the need for cancellation of the decision of the local council," the adviser of the President said.
Speaking on the temporary power of the prosecutor - the pre-trial investigation, Portnov said: "The Criminal Procedure Code solved this problem last year, and the prosecutor's office will not have the investigation. The new law does not develop this issue."
