Ukraine will make the top three of the largest grain exporters in the world in 2013-2014 marketing year, agrarian policy and food minister of Ukraine Mykola Prysiazhniuk said in interview with BTB TV channel.

He predicted that the harvest of early crops this year will be 31 million tons. "If we talk about the late grains, we expect 57-58 million tons," Prysiazhniuk said.

The minister called it an absolute grain harvest record our state has ever had. "This will fully ensure food security of the country and will enable us to export to foreign markets 27-28 million tons of grain, which is also a record figure. The greatest amount of grain ever exported by Ukraine has been 24 million tons per year," he said.

"We have the opportunity to increase the volume of exports, and we’ll make the top three of the largest grain exporters in the world," the minister expressed confidence and said that Ukraine was certified in many countries and in this regard, the geography of grain exports will be expanded.

According to him, .2 million tons of grain was exported in July. "We hope to export 1.5 - 1.7 million tons of wheat and 15-17 million tons of corn in August," Prysiazhniuk added.
