The rectors of higher education institutions are personally responsible for ensuring the reliability of the rating lists, and for violation of the preparation of the enrollment orders. First education and science deputy minister Yevhen Sulyma addressed with the appropriate letter the rectors of higher education institutions of all forms of ownership and subordination to prevent crime during the admission campaign.
In particular, the document notes that during the first stage of entrance examinations July 1-31, 2013, that is submission of the documents to the universities of Ukraine, law enforcement authorities found a few facts of unauthorized preferences in competitive selection. Criminal proceedings are already opened.
The Ministry points out that responsibility of heads of structural subdivisions of educational institutions, and employees of enrollment boards is important during the entrance exams and the formation of the competitive ranking lists.
The Ministry requires immediate reporting on cases of bribery and abuse, as well as the measures taken to prevent such events in higher education establishments.
"In the event of a violation of the terms of admission to higher educational institutions of Ukraine in 2013, the enrollment orders will be canceled, improperly enrolled students will not get student ID cards, and the perpetrators of committed crimes will be brought to justice," the letter reads.
