Suspect in bribery rector of the National University of State Tax Service of Ukraine Petro Melnyk does not admit his guilt. He said this during a hearing at which a measure of restraint is to be chosen for him, ForUm correspondent reports.
Melnyk said that he was fracked over. "Professors were not given orders to enroll him (an applicant - Ed.)," he said.
In turn, defense asked the court to release Melnyk on bail.
"I'm not going to run away ... Do not make a monster of me," he said.
At the same time, Melnyk stressed that he had submitted his resignation from the post of rector of the Academy, and therefore will not be able to put pressure on witnesses as official.
Earlier, the prosecutor asked the court to arrest Melnyk for 60 days.
