Ukraine and Germany will be able to more effectively achieve their commercial and economic potential. This was stated by first vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Arbuzov in Berlin during a meeting with the Vice-Chancellor and Federal Minister of Economics and Technology Philipp Rösler.
"Our countries have significant trade and economic potential. The future association with the EU will create the preconditions for its full development," press service quoted first vice Prime Minister's.
Arbuzov called the improvement of the investment climate one of the priorities of the economic block of the Cabinet of Ministers. He lays great expectations on the creation of a deep and comprehensive free trade area with the EU. First Deputy Prime Minister is confident that its creation would be beneficial for the European partners of Ukraine too.
According to him, Ukraine began to modernize the gas transportation system with the active assistance of the German capital.
Arbuzov noted that Ukraine remains an important player in the energy sector for the EU and the European Energy Community, the most cost-effective way of gas transit to Europe. In turn, Germany is important partner of Ukraine in many areas, for example, the introduction of energy-efficient technologies, renewable energy, energy efficiency. In addition, Ukraine has already carried out a number of long-term investment projects, staffed by German investors.
