Crews of Ukrainian helicopter detachment of the United Nations Operation in Côte d'Ivoire at Mi-24 made the first flight after the relocation to the country, the press service of the Defense Ministry reports.

Our compatriots, showing the presence of peacekeeping forces, completed overflight over the border areas and in remote areas, covered with jungle and mountains. The total length of the route was 330 km.

After performing the flight, inspectors from the United Nations Operation in Côte d'Ivoire certified transport and combat helicopters, which confirmed the readiness of Ukrainian troops to carry out tasks as directed.


“During the work of the inspectors also checked the status of weapons, special motor cars, property, equipment and medical equipment,” senior deputy commander of the 56th separate helicopter detachment of Special Aviation Group Lieutenant Colonel Oleksandr Chaplynsky informed.
