Russia's ban on the supply of confectionery products from Ukraine is rather political than economical issue, executive director of the International Fund Blazer Oleh Ustenko said during a roundtable, ForUm correspondent reports.

According to the expert, Moscow is trying to show that Ukraine depends rather strongly on the Russian market and the Customs Union.

He admitted that the ban on the import of domestic sweets was lobbied by the Russian confectioners, as imported products dominate on the Russian market.

According to him, Kyiv takes important steps towards the Eurasian integration. "It is immutable and important external partner, and it is necessary to conduct a balanced constructive dialogue," he concluded.
