All Ukrainian schoolchildren will be provided with textbooks, education and science minister Dmytro Tabachnyk told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.
The minister said that textbooks for the second grades were delivered to regional bookstores in May. According to the regional department for education and science, they were given to schools in June.
About five million copies of textbooks for the fifth grade were also delivered to the regional department.
"This is about 75% of the total circulation. 300-400 thousand books are delivered daily to the regions, and this means that in the first ten days of August, the educational institutions will get all new textbooks," he said.
Scientific and educational materials for teachers have been also developed. As for exercise books for class works and tests, parents will have to buy them on their own.
