Stamps, dedicated to Kyiv Rus Baptism, presented

Solemn commemorative stamp redemption of miniature sheet “1025th anniversary of the Baptism of Kyiv Rus” took place in the National Reserve "Sophia of Kyiv", ForUm correspondent reports.

First Vice Prime Minister Serhiy Arbuzov, present at the event, said that the 1025th anniversary of the Baptism of Kyiv Rus is an important date not only for the Ukrainian people, but for all Slavs. "Christianity has united our people, gave the impetus to culture. This miniature is designed to fix our Christian values. In my view, we should appreciate such events, so important for our future," he said.

Release of miniature sheet is implemented under a tripartite agreement among postal administrations of Ukraine, Russia and Belarus. Block design was developed by each party separately, but is put into circulation in all three countries at the same time - July 28, 2013.

Arbuzov expressed the hope that this miniature will occupy its rightful place in the collections of not only Ukrainian, but the world collectors, raising the image of Ukraine even higher.
