About UAH 27 million has been allocated from the local budget for the restoration and renovation of a number of important facilities in Kyiv, Head of Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov has said.

"I can name concrete figures. UAH 8 million was spent on St. Volodymyr Hill, UAH 11 million on the Magdeburg Law column, and about UAH 8 million on the monument to Princess Olha and five or six more important facilities that also had to be reconstructed. The funds were allocated from the local budget," he told Interfax-Ukraine in Kyiv on Friday.

At the same time, Popov said that the city authorities had not spent money on the organization of an entertainment program as part of the 1,025th anniversary of the Kyiv Rus conversion to Christianity.

"As for concerts and entertainment events, we paid not a single kopeck from the budget for this purpose. The funds are provided by sponsors who are the organizers of particular events," Popov said.

He added that the issue concerns a concert on Khreschatyk Street and a cultural program near the Magdeburg Law column.
