Yanukovych emphasizes importance of Church unity in Ukraine

President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych emphasizes the importance of unity of the Church in Ukraine. The Head of State said this, opening the exhibition "The Great and Majestic" at the National Cultural-Art and Museum Center “Art Arsenal”,  dedicated to 1025th anniversary of the Baptism of Kyiv Rus, ForUm correspondent reports.

Yanukovych noted that this exhibition is a good opportunity to experience a decisive influence of Christianity on development of Ukrainian patronage.

According to him, the exhibition features over one thousand works of art from 35 museums in the country. "Our cultural heritage is national pride. We are a great and original people, and this exhibition is a good opportunity to feel involvement in the important values of Ukraine," the President said.

Yanukovych noted the importance of the work of the Council of Churches and religious organizations. "Diligent and daily work of confessions demonstrates the importance of mission of the Church today, when people feel a strong need for reliable moral and philosophical orientations," the President concluded.
