Ukraine joined the consultations, initiated by the European Union within the framework of the WTO regarding the introduction of the vehicle recycling tax by Russian Federation. This information was confirmed by economic development and trade minister of Ukraine Ihor Prasolov, ForUm correspondent reports.
"You know that the main problem is that production of cars, trucks and buses dropped from 61% to 43% in 5 months of this year. This is of course reasoned by introduction of vehicle recycling tax in Russia," he said.
"Therefore, we, as a country abiding the WTO rules and protect the interests of our producers and our auto industry with all available legal means, of course, are interested in addressing this issue as soon as possible, so that our buses, passenger cars, heavy trucks could get into the markets of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan," the minister said.
