The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) is concerned about the number of pregnant women, who smoke, in Ukraine, deputy head of the UNICEF office to Ukraine Rudiger Luchmann told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.

He noted that the research, which was conducted by the State Service of Statistics and the Institute of Demography and Social Studies with the financial support of UNICEF, showed that there were some areas in life of Ukrainians that cause concern.

"As UNICEF, we are concerned about the situation that has developed in the field of child immunization, the level of consumption of iodized salt, and of course, we are concerned about the problem with breast feeding and the number of pregnant women, who continue to smoke," Luchmann said.

In addition, UNICEF is also concerned about the situation in families, in particular, domestic violence and attitude to it.
