Over the last years, a number of abortions has decreased in Ukraine, director of the Institute of Demography and Social Studies of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences Ella Libanova told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.
"Over the last years, Ukraine has observed a trend to reduce the number of abortions. Thus, according to the research, the majority of pregnancies (more than 80%) end with the birth of a child. Abortions amount to 13.9% and miscarriages - to 5.4%," she said.
According to the information of women surveyed, almost a quarter of respondents in Ukraine (23.1%) had abortions.
