Indicators of grain crops in Ukraine have all chances to set a record, as they have significantly exceeded the rate of the grain harvest of 2012, agrarian policy and food minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.
"As of today, Ukraine collected 23.5 million tons of grain, including 17.2 million tons of wheat, 5.6 million tons of barley and 341 thousand tons of rye," he said.
The minister stressed that the growth rate of grain harvest will increase in the future under good weather conditions.
Talking about separate crops, Prysiazhniuk stressed that there is a high yield of wheat, which is already by 30% more than last year.
The high yield of corn is observed as well, which may set a record this year and reach 25 million tons.
